Plantation Productions
/Plantation Productions is a Scottish arts and media charity based in the heart of Govan, Glasgow. Established in 2001, they have grown in response to the needs of the local community. They helped initiate and now manage The Portal - once a row of derelict shops which is a vibrant arts hub comprising of community workshop space, film production facilities, an Artist in Residence studio, Gallery and community radio.
From their base at The Portal they run the Making Art Matter Programme across the South West of Glasgow. The programme covers 5 different strands of outcome-based delivery - Arts & Wellbeing, Seniors & Intergenerational, Children & Families, Young People and Media Skills & Production.
Each of these strands provides a creative programme of activity and support using arts, crafts, film production, music and the performing arts as a medium for community engagement, empowerment and self-determination. They facilitate partnership working to make the best possible use of local resources and share expertise and knowledge to add as much value as possible to the lives of the people that we work with.
