AdvoCard

AdvoCard is a service user-led, independent advocacy organisation in Edinburgh. It provides both individual and collective advocacy for people with experience of mental health issues with the aim of providing opportunities for people to participate more effectively in decisions that affect all aspects of their lives.

As an organisation, AdvoCard is committed to equality, inclusion and human rights. It values not only our independence but also the fact that we continually strive to be service user led as an organisation. They have service users as members of their ruling body and encourage service users to train as volunteers.

They operate a flexible referral process and encourage self referral as well as accepting referrals form others. People who wish to use the service can call in to the office for an appointment or telephone.
