Health Foundation research on public spaces and people’s health in Scotland

CHEX is working with the Health Foundation to research how using, or not using, public spaces affects peoples’ health.

The Health Foundation want to understand the positive and negative impacts, especially in terms of health, of different types of space on communities and individuals. CHEX is carrying out this work in Scotland, along with 3 other organisations across the UK.

We are hosting a half day workshop on 18th February (Glasgow venue TBC) for members of the public, including members of community-based organisations or volunteers to share their experiences and local knowledge of using (or not being able to use) public spaces, including parks and green spaces, water spaces such as rivers and canals, and built spaces including public service facilities such as libraries, museums, day centres and children’s centres.

If you would like to participate in the research workshop please register your interest here.

The workshop will be approx. 3 hours long and refreshments will be provided. We will also cover travel costs. Places will be limited so please register your interest by Friday 17th January and we will be in touch shortly thereafter to confirm your place and provide further information.

We think this is an important opportunity for local people to have their say on things that help, or can hinder their health and wellbeing so we hope you can join us to contribute your views.
